About

Two decades in WordPress. Five years bridging it with marketing automation. Here's how I got here.

If you're deciding whether to work with me, you probably want more than a hero section can give you. So, the fuller story.

How I Got Here

I started building websites in 2003, back when WordPress itself was barely out of infancy. Over the next two decades I worked across corporate teams and independent projects, eventually specializing deeply in WordPress, not as a coder writing custom applications, but as someone who knows the platform inside out and uses it to solve real business problems.

About 5 years ago, my path shifted into marketing technology: Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, HubSpot, GA4. I ended up in an unusual position: understanding both sides of a gap most companies don't realize they have: the people who build the website, and the people who run the marketing automation on top of it. They rarely talk to each other. I can do both.

In July 2026, I went through a mutual separation from my corporate role. Since then, I've been taking on freelance and part-time client work (WordPress implementation and marketing automation) while actively looking for my next full-time role. To be clear about where I stand: I'm job hunting, and I'm open to a permanent position where both of these skill sets matter, with client projects running in the meantime. If that feels like an unusual thing to put on an About page, it's because I'd rather you know exactly where I am than pretend otherwise.

How I Work

I'm not an agency, and I'm not a generalist "full-stack developer" who happens to know WordPress. I'm a specialist. I go deep on WordPress and MarTech specifically, and I turn down work outside that lane rather than stretch thin.

You talk to the person doing the work. No account manager relaying messages to a developer you never meet.
I tell you when something's a bad idea. Including when it's the thing you originally asked for.
I document what I build. So you're never locked into needing me specifically to make a small change later.
I'm honest about scope. If a project needs a specialist outside my lane (e.g. custom app development, complex backend engineering), I'll tell you that upfront instead of taking the work anyway.
